Ugh. These are similar to my legs and ankles. I also gain weight in my legs and arms as opposed to my midsection. So even at 200 pounds, I have a flat stomach, but my extremities ain’t so pretty. I’m 5’8” and also strength train, so even though there is cushioning, the muscle definition helps it not look as bad as when I wasn’t working out. People can be so mean and I am so self conscious....but this is how I was born and can’t change how my weight is distributed.

OP does not have big ankle bones, and/or her ankle bone is hidden under a little fat so they look soft, so maybe this is where the confusion lies. Her ankles are significantly narrower than her calves, therefore they are NOT cankles.

I remember one of my mom’s friend’s cankles. She was average height and weight, maybe in the thin side, and was a avid runner. But her calves seemed to go all the way to her feet without narrowing. Those are cankles.

You need to get your eyes checked. Her legs are a straight line from calf to what should be an ankle.

Lol people who aren't obese have cankles. Seems like no one here knows what a cankle is.

Can you post a picture of a skinny person with cankles?

I've never seen a skinny person who had fat ankles.

Note: not a judgment on weight, but just a clarification on how one becomes predisposed to canklism.

Those are mild to moderately cankles, I'd say. Not severe canklism.

It was someone I dated. He has always been honest and blunt but I wasn't sure what cankles were. I diet strictly and lift weights and have been doing so for years and my legs always looked the same.

I sincerely hope youre not still dating him. Don't date people who make you question anything about yourself in that way. I'm sorry that he did that to you.

+1 he’s should be making you feel like the most beautiful woman in the room.

to those saying yes, absolutely shame on you

You have a strong leg but very defined ankles.

So

NO CANKLES

Omg don’t lie to this person. There is zero definition in their ankles. They have asked a question. You help no one with distorted body images by lying and claiming that there is a defined ankle. The OP’s legs are straight from knee to foot. They are NOT fat but there is no discernible ankle.

OP’s ankles definitely have less circumference than her calves, thus no cankles. Some people have ankles that almost look swollen or bloated and that contributes to the cankle look. OP may be a little overweight and has short legs, but she doesn’t have cankles.

I am at my thinnest actually.

Was that you saying you're at your thinnest, OP? That's great, but you're still overweight, so you're not refuting the PP.

Op has cankles.

No, her legs are just thick--if she lost weight or toned they would be fine.

Man here. Those are cankles but your legs aren't pocked with cellulite so you still look decent in shorts. Looks like you have a curvy body, which can be sexy.
