Subject: Di you think I offended DIL?
I agree with folks who say just start a group text with both son and DIL, say hi guys, sorry the package through a wrench in my offer last week but opportunity still on the table if you'd like free time this week.
It's also possible the house was a mess -- mine always is -- or they have covid concerns -- we do with my inlaws who believe they dont go anywhere and have brought debilitating illness into our house in the past without telling us they were sick.
Also, I may have thought the package issue just meant that particular Monday was no longer good -- or if the new timeframes didnt work on my end, that no response was needed. Agree it's always better to close the loop and do a group text including your own child. I am able to be more direct with my own folks than inlaws.

I’d guess DIL just forgot, or assumed you’d be coming after 1.

+2 And she may have just presumed you were coming after 1...then realized later that you thought she would confirm so now she's not sure what to do. Proceed as normal for this upcoming Monday. Maybe include something like "I can't wait to see Larlo and Laslo this week after my delivery last week messed everything up!"
