Yes, there’s a reason for the staff turnover. But for OP and a 1 to 3 year stay, I wouldn’t worry too much about that..

I’d say that Barrett isn’t quite in the same category as the others.

Well, in that case PP’s list isn’t exhaustive of all Title 1 schools and seems a little silly to mention HB and Campbell in the same way as the others, given test scores. Unless that’s not really the reason PP thinks OP should avoid those schools.

Commuting to Lenfant? 22202 can’t be beat. Oakridge is the best school in South Arlington, and just as good as the North Arlington schools (some may say better due to some actual diversity).

Not permanent..1-3 yrs

Also, back before 2013-15 or so, Hoffman-Boston was a disaster, but they turned it around with a new principal and a STEM focus. I would ignore reviews earlier in time, if that shows up.

Not afraid of the diversity..My kid is half S.Asian half white. Eagerly looking forward to have a urban and diverse lifestyle.

OP: I agree distance learning has been painful for many. We hope to be there for 1-3 years.
We would a healthy mix as well..

The Fleet principal is terrible. Henry was a great school, so it's sad what happened. OP, APS is an absolute mess right now, I am sorry to say. By the time you get here, we will have been closed for over a year. No one really knows what the fall will look like. Look into private schools.

Don't be afraid of diversity, it's a great thing, but APS is a system with haves and have nots. Some schools are extremely wealthy, others extremely poor. Many of the people here (I am one of them) like the mix. But again, APS is an absolute crapshoot for next year.

Or potentially the Ballston Station. Not walking distance, but not a far drive or bus ride. I think you can park in the Ballston Garage for $1. At least that used to be the case.

Also, easy to get a bus from Shirlington area to the Pentagon and then take the yellow line to L'enfant. The school for Shirlington/Fairlington is Abingdon. Around 40% FARMs and diverse and have also heard good things.
