Or it ends up working out with the ap because the ap knows exactly who she's with. In our situation as soon as we decided to be together I suggested an open relationship. Technically we had been in one for years anyway. It works for us. If he's away on business and I've texted him he will text me back immediately if he's not available and that's fine. I'm sleeping with other people doesn't bother me at all. My rule is don't bring me back any babies or diseases.

It’s often not about the man in these types of situations...only in the sense that they could never land a man like that if he were single.


"land a man like that". Seriously that husband is a low life cheater, nothing sacred. He's as low as the AP and its the wife that needs to wonder why she missed the red flags. Hopefully she can divorce him, but many are stuck by kids and finances.


Many more let the losers have at it! It’s called having financial independence and a career. Cheaters deserve one another. Once they see they are going to have to support a middle aged loser into their retirement..and she’s really not who she pretended to be during the affair...that move on again. They don’t trust a cheater/each other.

Not all wives are scorned. Most women know they are with a cheater, they've decided to stay because of their lifestyle. Chances are the husband was dead to them years ago. Your wife may be a little smarter than you know.

My married friend bragged about the hot married guy she was seeing. I saw a photo of his wife—positively stunning and she was very successful. I knew he would never leave her and was using my friend. He pretty much told her that too. She was looking for an exit affair and thought she could change his mind. Stupid. It blew up dramatically.

Well she didn’t “end up” with a married guy with a kid, now did she? He didn’t leave his wife for her, correct? She’s probably too old to land someone without looks and/or means to support herself/successful career. Her options are severely limited.


Why would a married guy with a kid even be an option in the first place? Talk about sinking low.


She liked me? I mean it's a weird situation for sure, but she dated me for the same reason anyone dates anyone. We split up because she couldn't actually handle my being married, but thought she could.

My overall point was that, yes, we were both people with fewer options than a lot of people which helped us get together.

I can't speak for cheaters but I'm in an open marriage so I have dated while being married, though not since COVID. My last girlfriend was cute but heavier and relatively unsuccessful (several part time jobs). I liked her a lot, but by DCUM standards she'd get described the way people are talking about APs here. I think she felt like she had fewer options, was grateful for any kind of positive attention, and so she was more likely to wind up with a married guy with a kid. It really does just narrow your options.
