I did a similar platinum blonde for 2.5 years. It did not damage my hair—I did condition the hell out of it and rarely washed it, but I have wavy hair that does better with fewer shampoos anyway.

I was getting the roots done every 5 weeks.

I stopped because the cost was prohibitive. I grew out the roots for two months and then my stylist dyed the blonde back to my natural light brown.

+1 It looks like an SNL sketch in which they are satirizing Betty Draper in Mad Men, using an ugly wig and actress with purposefully odd facial expressions. (January Jones actually suited the look in a way this unfortunate woman does not; JJ's hair was maintained well, with no visible roots or jarringly contrasting eybrows/orange skin).

No. If I were thinking of a drastic new hair makeover, I would post here for honesty and I would be grateful to get it. The OP's real-life friends aren't going to be so blunt and honest, and she might actually want to know how this look is perceived by the majority of people. I know that I would want to know before I made such a dramatic change. This woman looks terrible and if our comments can prevent someone else from making a horrible mistake that will ruin their hair and take 1+ years to grow out again, then I think that's a good thing.

+1 I don't get the "classy" comments. That hair looks so downmarket to me. The bleach job seems uneven, and it it doesn't suit her skin tone at all.

With the awkward, odd smile and bad bleach job, she looks like a less appealing version of Borat's daughter.

She looks gorgeous here. Why doesn't she smile more often?? The botox and short round eyebrows give her an odd look for sure.

Overall I admire the look and I honestly don't mind the blond. It looks nice and shiny sometimes but sometimes it looks stiff and helmety. She also has a low hairline like Jackie O, which looks odd with some styles.

What I can't handle is the face she makes in every photo. I don't understand.

I actually really love that icy blonde, touch of roots look but I think its styled ALL wrong on this woman. She's too conservative/prep/wasp in her style. It looks best on some one who has that more minimalist style that has edge to it. The 2nd photo where its slicked back would look great with that kind of clothing. But when its down and she wears it with the Mad Men style curls and what not, it just looks like a meh bottle blonde kind of look.

I'd love to see her edge it up with that hair.
