another benefit and great reason for the lockdown is that it would ensure an end to his political career and spare us from any of his national ambitions.
What lockdown? Are you drunk?
sorry, meant recall.

I know many, many people who feel the same way I do.
The teacher, public worker and nurses unions run the state, dropped a hundred million to stop Arnold’s reforms, and bankroll Democrats. Where have you been the past 30 years? This isn’t an I told you so, but everyone here claiming to be in the side of right, and for years voting for wrong, needs to look long and hard on how we got here. Nothing Newsom has done is out of character. He’s as advertised.
Fine, but here we are. I want Newsome out.

Another Repbulican bitter about losing their dirtbag president.

Which I don’t think is an accurate assumption. I think he’s pushing for reopening bc numbers are rapidly dropping - not because Republicans hate him. He f’ed up big time on schools, though.
I don't think it's *just* republicans who hate him, because in our state, that certainly wouldn't cost him an election or create a credible threat of a recall. I heard someone say something that made me laugh, it went something like this:
Gavin Newsom has managed to do what no other politician in California has been able to do: He's managed to bring together Democrats and Republicans, liberals and conservatives, people of all races and ethnicities and socioeconomic groups, to unite for one goal: and that is to replace Gavin Newsom.
That doesn't make me laugh. It makes me feel depressed that the guy running our state is such a corrupt loser.
And yet he will beat this recall because democrats like me understand that the pandemic was an extraordinary event and there is no playbook. The sharks circling are opportunists who could not have done better themselves IRL.
Hah. Nobody gave Trump that grace.
In Newsom's case, the problem is that he's doing one thing while telling us to do another. His kids are allowed to be in school while ours aren't. His business is allowed to be open while ours aren't. He's allowed to have dinner parties while we aren't. etc etc
It's the hypocrisy that gets to people.
AMEN. He is NOT a liberal democrat. He IS an elitist a-hole who thinks none of the rules apply to him because he is wealthy so he can give lip service to making a difference to the poor and powerless but when it is time to actually stand up for them, he doesn't give a rats ass about them. Those disadvantaged kids have been at home alone, without food, without internet, without computers, without an education FOR AN ENTIRE YEAR while his OWN rich, privileged, white a$$ sends his own kids to FULL-TIME IN-PERSON school for the past year.
I am a liberal democrat (not an elitist) and I believe in equal rights for all. I want Newsom GONE.
