haha are you asian- this sounds like every (1st gen) asian parent, not that happiness should be illegal but that using the word happy should be. Money= happiness for them. To give them credit, their single minded devotion to accumulating money provided a great basis for their descendants to choose happiness. Im in my 40's, i wonder if the newer generations are different b.c of course our parents came from teh struggle of post colonial regimes in the mid to late 20th century and Asia has changed a lot.

Maintain your fitness. This seems simple but adequate sleep, hydration, exercise, and nutrition is central to the way you experience the world.
Prioritize a short commute.
If you always do right, you'll never go wrong. This is important- moral lapses are a threat to everything that makes you happy so always pick the most principled choice.

Be happy. Being born as a human is rare, super awesome and very fortunate things. No reason to not be happy as a human. Face your problem head on. Never not be happy!
From someone I love dearly, she passed away with cancer at age 55. Never was down once about her obstacle. Dedicated her last ten years of life for great causes. Calm me down when she has less than3 months to live herself.
