Anonymous wrote:Hi everyone - I am in the same boat as many of you on here - prepaid for three weeks of 2021 for our daughter, who attended for her first time last summer 2020. She had a wonderful experience and really wanted to go back. I am really upset to hear all of this information about Joe Greitzer, who has been totally unresponsive to me and my husband. We filed the bankruptcy court paperwork that arrived. We had originally planned for her to go to Camp Farwell in Vermont, which was an amazing place. We did a visit there during summer 2019, and we were so impressed, but they ended up canceling last summer, so we scrambled to find Camp Rim Rock and were thrilled to find a place that ran a successful summer. I might send my daughter to Farwell, but was happy to find a place that was within a few hours drive from home in DC area. If anyone else has ideas about places to go, I would appreciate hearing them.

I too prepaid for 5 weeks for 2021, for 2 daughters... I am devastated! If you paid by credit card, you can try to dispute through your credit card. Unfortunately for me.. this is a lesson I am learning the hard way, the next time I pre-pay for anything.. use your credit card, not a direct payment from your credit card!!
They are not allowed to give any refunds until after the bankruptcy is settled. He must file a plan describing how he intends to reorganize and pay back his debts (sell a portion of the camp, the whole camp, rent a portion, let another company run the camp.. who know what he will come up with).
I remain hopeful the camp can pull through, but I have my doubts. My daughters have gone for 4 years, they absolutely LOVED this camp.

Anonymous wrote:Hi everyone. I don't know if anyone is still reading this thread but if so: DO NOT send your daughters to Rim Rock if the current owner is still in charge. I am a former director and unit head. I spent 12 summers there. I can tell you with certainty that the man who owns the camp is not the kind man you think he is. I have sat at lunch with him and listened to him talk about the moms of campers, gossiping about their marriage status or income. He has singe-handedly financially ruined the camp. He takes out loans and doesn't pay them, he is being investigated by the IRS for misuse of funds. He did not pay his staff fully, and didn't pay any of us at all until two months after we left work. This is not a COVID thing. He has been late on our payments for the last 3 years, and ignores us when we ask. He does not care about us. He does not care about your children. To him, your children are income and we (the staff) are free labor. He fired his assistant director to which he owes thousands of dollars. He has 0 staff. Camp is NOT going to happen this summer- I can tell you this with certainty, but the owner will not and will take your money if you can. DO NOT pay him a cent. I can illustrate more examples- there are so many things going on at camp that I am sure parents would love to know about, but you will NEVER hear from the owner.
I care about your children. I've spent years forming sister-like relationships with them. Because I care, I'm begging- DO NOT SIGN UP!
