Your 12 yo sounds like a jerk.

I like Henrietta best.

She's actually quite sweet and would never make fun of someone's name, but she knows how other 12 yr olds are. So, actually, she's being kind by telling OP that this is what's going to happen to their kid.

I love Harriet. Always have, ever since a kid and read Harriet the Spy. I’m shocked it hasn’t become popular!

Ruth /Ruthie will be making a comeback with passing of RBG.

I love it-- Ruthie as a kid; Ruth on a resume sounds fantastic.

I love Edith, it’s so elegant sounding.

Makes me think British high society in Edwardian times.

Minerva isn't a witch, PP. She was the Roman equivalent of the goddess Athena.

OP you better make sure that she's smart if you are going to name her after the goddess of Wisdom. But it would make the nursery theme easy: Owls!!

The nicknames are great too. You could call her Teddy, Dora or Dory, Thea — it’s a very versatile name.

DP. She not a jerk, she’s just not hanging out with the newborn - 3 year old set so she doesn’t know that names that were popular 100+ years ago are coming back now.
