Most played with toy in our household:

Wooden play kitchen.

We invested in a high quality play kitchen for X-mas when our oldest DD was 2. Fast-forward 7 1/2 years later and it is still the most used toy in the household (it has made its way through 3 kids) and is incorporated in all sorts of imaginative play routinely.

In the days (long ago) when we could host playdates, this was also the most popular item to use.

Not even close. My 8 yo still loves them. Just depends on the kid.

7 yr old still plays with them. SOmetimes adults play with them...back when we had visiters.

My 13 YO niece still plays with hers.

Magna tiles now has other sets: a barn, a schoolhouse, a castle, a school bus, etc. Love them so much. Just wish they were cheaper.

Yeah, I didn’t know about the stairs! We have little platforms with wheels, which are fun for making trains and cars, but now I’m going to go check out the stairs ... that’s a decent Hanukkah present idea.

I have a question about marble runs! My kid would probably love that, but he has a history of putting things in his mouth (swallowed a coin 6 months ago) so I am super paranoid about marbles. When did you feel safe with the marbles?

You know your child the best, but you could start by only putting out ONE marble (rather than 3 or 4 at a time) and supervising, then backing off to not supervising so heavily.

Yes! So many birthday parties. We also ended up with a substantial Calico Critter collection, which are also frequently found in Magnatile rooms/houses. Once, all of the figures had to go potty, one by one, before leaving for an outing. “You don’t have to be here for this, mommy, it’s kind of boring.” - 5yo

My boys are 4 and 6.

MagnaTiles are popular and have been since we got them for our older son when his brother was born. Now we have additional sets - windows, wheels, 3D blocks

QBMaze marble run - 4yr old can’t do it alone and it only leads to tears. 6yr old can kind of do it.

Board games are super fun - the kids play Sneaky SnackySquirrel, Hoot Owl Hoot, connect four, cootie, and candy land by themselves.

We just got a huge set of FunPhix - we’ve already built a store, a slide and a fort.

Trains are still popular for the 4yr old and Legos Legos Legos for the 6yr old - we buy them by the pound on eBay and free build.

The Nugget. Multiple times a day.

When we got this gift last year, we thought it would be used maybe 5 times. It gets the most play out of any of my kids' toys (Lego's, Magnatiles, Barbies etc.). Boy and girl, almost 6 and almost 4.
