I met my husband (and married him 6 months later) when i was 43 and he was 34. 16 years later we are good as ever. 3 kids. (I had one, he had 2.)

This is so wishful thinking written by an old man. The vast majority of men over 55 have no hair, are totally out of shape, and look absolutely horrible. There are silver foxes here and there, but they are about as common as female silver foxes.

These types of age gaps were common generations ago. Data shows that as women have more independence, especially financial, they choose to marry men within three years of their age. The vast majority of marriages are where partners are within a few years of each other’s age, and these tend to be the most solid. I married a much older man, and for many reasons do not advise my daughters to do the same. Or my son to marry a much younger woman.

Gross age gap and psych problems are for certain in at least one of you

Nah, we just are a good match, especially this year working from home. We met through friends and assumed each other’s ages wrong: he though I was late 20s and I thought he was mid-30s.

Gross! You could be he’s daughter!

Why do you care about their age gap as long as they're happy together?

Given the natural sex drive disparity between the sexes, this is a good age gap. Being married to a 30ish year old man is annoying unless you want to have sex a the time

My work requires me to work with a group of older senior women. What has stood out to me is that most of them have husbands who are ~10 years older than them. Most of their husbands have passed on or are in steep decline. Women already live longer than men, but when you add-on the age gap, it's more pronounced--so many still vibrant women in their 60s-80s taking care of sick and declining men. Obviously, lifespan has no guarantees, but I wouldn't want that for myself or my daughter.

+1 Another one here! Similar spread, 3 kids, and been together over 20 years.

Did you mean when you were 16 and he was 29? I bet your parents loved that. ED is knocking at his door, get as much sex as you can now.

Yes this. It is not normal for a 40 something yr old to want to be in a relationship past sex with a 22 yr old. Eww. Is he an ex NFL player?

-50 yr old wife married to 58 yr old man.

Don't get me wrong.. I do love DH, but as a PP stated, as we age, the physical differences become more noticeable. It seems like there is a steeper decline after a certain age.

I am a POC, 50 year old woman who dates interracially. I have to address the perceived age gap when dating.

Your friends that introduced you are laughing at you behind your backs. Of course it works during shutdown, you are both home without the reality of the everyday world knocking with lots of time to get busy.
