I’m curious about this. How often do you sleep with other people? Do you talk about it with each other?

Married 19 years, 3 kids. Opened the marriage for both of us two years ago to add variety. And it worked.

We’re very happy and we don’t take it for granted. My sex life with my first H was really awful. Bad sex after we actually married and he stopped trying. Abusive sex toward the end.

Sex is described in very odd ways on this site. If one person is not happy or does not care about their partner’s happiness then this is unhealthy. Sex should be bonding, not dividing.

We did for 28 years. Then menopause hit me hard and caused vaginall attophy, and he experienced ED.

That's life sometimes.

I'm gonna have to disagree with this sentiment. I'm in my early 40s and of all my friends, virtually all are in the same boat - minimal sex. I used to think that was NOT the norm when I was younger but the older I get, the more I realize it probably is the norm.

So you get together and whine about your sex lives?

We do! Frequency ebbs and flows but we are very communicative and respect each other. We both love to please each other. To us, this is healthy.

It depends on which one of us you ask. We have sex 3-4 times/week. It’s mostly pretty good, sometimes amazing. We do a lot of light bondage and role play. He would like to do more anal and include other people. I’m not interested in either. I think our sex life os pretty good. He feels like it’s lacking.

Wow, speaking as a man, it seems like he’s asking for a lot. You’re definitely doing your part.

+1.

Haha this is so true.

It depends what you mean by minimal. The average for couples in their 40s is 2-4x a month. For some, that's a lot and considered healthy. Agree that would be sad in your 20s.

I do. Finding sex as a man is work. Now that I am married, will be damned if I don't have it as often as possible and use my imagination to suggest new things. Luckily I married a woman just as explorative as me.

I did. 3-4 times per week average over 23 years until I found out about his secret affair. That was revolting and traumatic to find o was exposed to potential STIs and living with someone that could lie so well and leave no trace.

If you ask the DH or the DW, you will probably get two different answers. There is a Woody Allen movie line about this.
