Unless you have BTDT, then take a seat. My neighbors put up a basketball hoop, totally on their property. They are nice people and I like them. Their teen boy has been out there for HOURS most days and the hoop is in sight and hearing distance of our deck and dining room. It's loud. It's like constantly being in that scene in A Wrinkle in Time where the kids are all bouncing a ball in front of their house.

In my situation, it's their house and I totally recognize that. If it was my basketball hoop on my property I'd offer hours they could play that wouldn't interfere with my work.

Related side note: no matter where the hoop may be, if the kids get hurt or if the hoop falls on them there could be liability/ legal issues.

Cover the hoop with a garbage bag. They will get the hint.

Park your car under the hoop during school hours. Problem solved.

She is the TEACHER, so presumably she has to speak. She says that her students can hear it. Yes, it is her property and she can ask kids to wait to use it without being a jerk. Allowing people to use your things doesn't mean that she forever gives up any input into its use.

If the hoop is your property and on your property, yes, you can restrict the hours. It's yours and you're kind to let them use it. My neighbor lets my kids use certain things and if she asks to restrict something we would comply immediately because it's hers.

If it's not your property, you can't really say anything. You can mention to the neighbors that your hours are different and that it's helpful to keep the noise down during the day. But you can't make demands.

I also teach live all day, with slightly different hours than my kids and the neighborhood kids. I keep the windows closed because of lawnmowers and kids, and use a room that I don't prefer because it's in a better location in the house.

Yes, its fair if it is your hoop. I would ask.

At the point I posted, there was not an answer to the requests OP clarify where the hoop was. So stuff it.

Stop teaching at the front of your house, and move to a location at the back of your house, problem solved. No hearing bouncing for your students and kids cooped up all day long get to move and get fresh air. How could you not figure this out?

Now you know how annoying your hoop is to other neighbors.
