Wouldn’t get annoyed by me pursuing my hobbies while they are at work. I’m always fascinated by doctors and their work; we’d have no shortage of things to discuss. I like a woman who is driven.
If something ever happened to DW and I had to raise DS on my own, I’d definitely be inclined to date/marry a woman doctor.

It seems to work best for doctor doctor couples
+2 All the female physicians that I know are married to other drs, except one. My DH is a physician himself so I know a lot.
My aunt and uncle are a doctor couple and work well. As is my sister and brother in law. I think there’s a schism for male doctors, some are attracted to intelligent women and some are not necessarily attracted to intelligent/driven women.
If they don’t want to marry other doctors, that doesn’t mean they’re “not attracted to intelligent women”.
That’s fair.
“Intelligent” and “highly educated” aren’t the sand thing.
And there are other kinds of highly educated women besides doctors.

I have a job where I work 40 hrs / week, making decent money (200K/yr). I have no problem being with someone who makes more than me (400K /yr is starting to get to decent money).
But, if she is working 70-80 hours per week, she will be too tired for a life outside of work.

Am I wrong? 168 hours in a week. 49 hours sleeping, another 14 with "personal time" including grooming, etc. That is 63 hours per week. If you work 80 hours a week, that leaves 25 hours a week for everything else. How much time do you spend eating? What about commute? I remember when my father was practicing medicine, he worked and slept/

I think PP was rolling her eyes at the idea that $400k a year is starting to get to decent money. I don’t have anything decent by those standards, but even I can infer that. Funny that you went to counting down the hours.

Anonymous wrote:Anonymous wrote:Anonymous wrote:Op here I find it interesting that men pick woman based on what they think woman can do for them. While male physicians are seen as attractive to woman because of the high salaries, female physician are unattractive to men because of long hours that make the profession too all consuming to allow for the husband to feel nurtured, cared for and to do sick days for future kids.
This dating/marriage in a nutshell. Marriage is only beneficial to a woman if it improves her financial situation. As was brought out in the recent SAHM thread men and women are raised with the idea that women are to do the heavy lifting of the household, even if they work it's the expectation.
I’m amused that people so bothered by 1950s roles will turn around and boil things down to another stereotype. People are more complex than the convenient generalization you claim was agreed to on another thread.
