I am not a Pipeline parents but did hear that they lost a few games against McLean which is fine given that McLean is probably the strongest ECNL club in the DC area. I also don't that yesterday was Pipeline's first game/scrimmage in six months so I wouldn't judge the club too harshly given that McLean has been scrimmaging non-stop for the past month.

And, how did the club do?

The lack of crowing from Pipeline dad should tell you all you need to know.

Pipeline beat McLean. No crowing needed.

which one?

They play R-ECNL league against nova teams. Kickers played VSA over the weekend.

And they scrimmage NVa teams.

Good program...not as good as some of the NVa teams.

Richmond is in the same league as the NOVA teams, so it wouldn't be very interesting. Those result could be easily found online.

you mean like the tournaments that they're constantly hosting? They win some and they lose some

So one week in and predictions of being the dominant girls club from Baltimore to Richmond has already died.

HAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHHAHAHAHHAHAHAHH!!!

Girls soccer freaks flying their flags again. Good grief. Doesn't the state of the NWSL tell you anything about how little people care?

+1 boys soccer is where it's at. Do you know where I can buy season tickets for the Alexandria Boys Red U10, or is the waiting list prohibitive?

I agree youth soccer parents are generally crazy, though on this forum, the posters re: girls soccer definitely trend nuttier. I think the more apt analogue is MLS, where people care more than about NWSL, but for reasons that mystify many, including the MLS supporters themselves.

Pipeline is really good on the boys side. I don't really think it matters and I think part of the problem in US soccer more generally is an overwhelming tilt towards wealthier suburban parents who know or care nothing about the game or development but focus on results, like the yahoo up top claiming victory after three scrimmage results after six month layoffs. It's a joke and everybody here knows it.

Very few clubs teach anything around here. The rest have the parents they deserve whose kids aspire to play a couple of years of D1 to throw on their resume when they enter the job market. nothing wrong with that. But nothing too impressive.

I think no one other than parents (maybe involved grandparents) should care about youth soccer, or youth sports in general. And even then, only to the extent that it directly impacts their kids. Who really cares if one club is better than another? I care if DDs team wins, but only because it makes her happy.

Yeah, I would much rather my son be taught properly so that he can play pro soccer. If only pro teams had youth programs where my son could receive such instruction. Oh well, until that day, I will just keep sending him to Pipeline.

What's the minimum salary again for MLS players? $81k? Yeah, it would be soooo much better for my son to focus all his efforts on being a pro player for a few years, instead of wasting his time going to a good college and graduate school, and then being gainfully employed like the rest of you snobs in your wealthy suburbs in NoVa and MoCo.
