Subject: Any moms with all boys that love it and do not feel disappointed?
I only have a son and am so thankful I feel I’d worry more about girls, like added risks to be a woman in this day and age

It is, but I assume most people are just making conversation. It’s not a biggie.
Yup, It's been happening since the beginning of time, people ask people dumb questions. If you had all girls, they'd ask if you're going for a boy. If you had red hair and your kids were all blondes, they'd ask if you'd try for the red. If you have a cat they ask if you'll get a dog too. People talk a lot. It's best not to feel victimized by it.

They are individuals, with their own personalities. I wouldn’t teach toxic masculinity just like I wouldn’t teach a damsel in distress personality. You are your own best advocate, but that doesn’t diminish anyone else.
Agree. I think it has to do more with how well your personalities mesh. My brother happens to get along better with my mom, whereas I gel with my dad because we are more like.

I really wanted a girl and after my sweet boy wanted a brother for him. I'd still like a girl, but not like I did. When I thought of kids I thought of a girl who head Anne of Green Gables with me. But there are so many fun things to explore with my boy that I hadn't expected - animals, nature, history, other countries/travel. He's not a sports kid which does help I have to say. There's a lot of research suggesting we don't always know in advance what will make us happy. I can see how that's true in my life.

I loved it, boys are crazy though... they play rough and it's probably why most my friends have all boys.
I loved all the sports and how mellow they are as teens.
I prefer all boys but that is just me. I only have brothers so my advice is to have a plan for when you are elderly because boys are not that helpful.
This isn't true. My brother is very helpful as is my dh to his mom. He was with her for six weeks because of covid! And no, I didn't resent it or her. I was glad my dh was being a good son!

I think people who actively don't want or denigrate either gender of children are seriously screwed in the head. You see comments on these boards all the times of people saying "I never wanted a daughter" or "I'm so sad the sonogram says it's a boy" and my honest-to-god opinion of those people is that they should not be raising children of either gender.

I have 2 girls. Really wanted a boy for my first, not sure why. Maybe deep down I thought my DH would be more excited. I was wrong, he is nuts about them both. Sometimes I contemplate having a third. Would love a third little girl, would also love a boy. You get what you get.

My mother-in-law had all brothers, and then all sons.
She's delighted with all her grandchildren, of course, but she's said that after a lifetime of action figures and sports, she's really happy to have someone willing to play with dolls and try on jewelry with her.

I have 2 boys and love raising boys. I never longed to raise a girl in particular.
However I will fully admit that the piece that makes me a little sad is that generally adult daughters include their moms a lot more in their lives than adult sons. Sharing details of their day to day life and worries, taking trips together, wanting their moms not MILs right after birth (obviously!), thinking about being close to them as they age. Of course these are generalizations and theres no guarantee but they are backed by data.
I don't think there's any raising a boy or girl to be a specific way, but generally girls are more likely to maintain friendships and family ties, want to talk through things, etc so if i'd had a girl the odds are greater that we would that type of close relationship as an adult that I have with my mom.
