I hate Monday’s because we live in a hot spot and I have to hear all about their visits with friends and trips to the beach. I don’t go anywhere!! I have started going to the grocery store for myself but I’m not telling my employers, because then they will be sending me 4x a week. I like them to think I’m super safe (and I am compared to them!!) so they can’t ask me to do errands or play dates with all their unsafe friends. I don’t even see my own friends!

Why would you want a hermit to care for your children?

Mine does. She is born-again and hasn’t dated for years. I know she’s probably a unicorn but we got lucky.
SAme except it’s a maturity thing with our nanny. She’s a beautiful older women (seriously, she looks like Catherine Deneuve) who came to nannying as her second career and has zero interest in dating. She is able to live alone through her pension from her first career.
We got lucky on so many counts!

Family status is not protected. This is what is covered:
https://www.eeoc.gov/prohibited-employment-policiespractices
From your own link, marital status, whether or not you have children, and the number of children you have are absolutely covered.
https://www.eeoc.gov/pre-employment-inquiries-and-marital-status-or-number-children
Refusing to hire someone because they live with a spouse, and/or their children is absolutely discrimination.
