What if it’s not a brief fleeting interaction?

I haven't gotten it, including six flights without a mask (got on and pretended to sleep) and eating out with friends once a week. The risk is overblown. Please see a therapist to deal with your hypochondria.
Wow! Talk about selfish!
Why? I don't have it.
How often are you tested? How do you know you haven't had it at any time while flying?
Anonymous wrote:OP, wearing masks outside at Meadowlark Gardens is not an issue. In the visitors center, it is. They should not have allowed them in -- violation of county park policy,
Anonymous wrote:OP Meadowlark Gardens is outside, very spacious, and sprawling. A mask is totally unnecessary. There is plenty of space for YOU to move away from other people.

I was appalled at a family (3 adults and 3 children), none of them wearing masks and congregating on one of the most visited gazebos at the park. They had all their belongings spread out on a very large bench and they were there for a long while. So inconsiderate! Many families take their children to that particular place because of the views (it is at the highest point) and because the kids can run down afterwards.
Many families are still quarantining - not socializing with other people but going out for a breather. We go to these parks to have a socially distanced time where the kids can run around. The park is large enough that it can be done. We just avoid the most frequented places.
I am trying to protect my family and I won't avoid these places because we can be away from people. What people need to realize is that this is a place for everyone. We are in a pandemic. If you choose to be selfish and not wear a mask, that is your choice. Just don't do it where many families want to take their children.
Seriously. And for those that want to say, "if you don't like it, stay home." How dare you? You then might be the problem. You can't expect things to improve if that is your attitude.

Do you *actually* think that you’re going to get covid walking past someone on the sidewalk? Or more than 6 feet away in a park? Or from a runner? Or is this some kind of suffering olympics where you just think people who are willing to walk/run/bike in 90 degree heat with a mask on are just better people?
This is my question too.
I wear mask in public to signal to other people and my kids that I am not an oblivious idiot, that I respect the fact that we are in a middle of pandemic which literally means "prevalent everywhere", and that I am civil member of a society. Mask burden is not high. I also do not pick my nose nor do I produce noxious farts in public for the above mentioned reasons.
