School is not a sleepaway camp.
There are also plenty of day camps operating in the DMV right now without outbreaks.
Plenty of day camps have seen spreading and quickly shut down. Some couldn’t even open because staff tested positive before opening.
There are many asymptomatic carriers out there (I know someone who tested positive this week without symptoms).
There are? Where did you hear about this?
Yeah.... what? A bunch never opened, but I can think of 8-10 that have opened without incident.

My office and upwards of 20 other fed agencies, nonprofits, firms, etc. (plus the thread in the jobs forum) have already announced they’ll reevaluate in 2021.
I understand many people still must go to offices/hospitals/etc., but you must realize the seriousness of the situation when DC offices that never allowed telework are now mandating it through 2021.
Can everyone just stop criticizing the schools and focus on planning for the Fall? You critics sound ridiculous. Like Chuck Woolery.
Some parents believe their needs eclipse those of teachers regardless of the risks the teachers must take on and believe they'll be fine and mainly feel inconvenienced by this pandemic. Others don't believe the risks apply to them.
Alternately, many parents are desperate for their kids to be in school because "distance learning" was a disaster last spring and will continue to be a disaster this coming school year.

Um, all the Asia and Europe countries are doing it. Their numbers are great.
So sick of people saying things can’t be done.
So sick of people citing Asia and Europe as if it's remotely relevant. Go get us their leadership and rewind back to March, then try again.
