These places have no where near the number of cases we have but keep trying

Well, I would do it, but I agree that a mask mandate could be just as effective. But, a real mask mandate, so no indoor dining or other bullshit.

We have been living with a mask mandate in most states. You see how that’s gone. There’s a bunch of yahoos who feel that it impedes their freedom.

Masks
Close the bars
Close the indoor dining
Curfews to cut down on house parties
More testing capacity
More contact tracing

If we did all this we could open schools nationwide by the end of September. But no. Let's keep spinning our wheels.

Exactly. Another lockdown is not going to do anything without a system of testing and contact tracing in place. We're just chasing our tales. Some of the people proposing these ideas are just as misguided as those protesting masks.

And I’d never support this...we were told two weeks the first time and it turned into 3 months.

It didn’t work because it was never a serious lockdown. You still had people messing around. Then by week 3 you had the reopen protesters.

Well I think technically it did work if the goal was to spread out the cases and not overwhelm the hospitals. Hospitals were not overwhelmed, at least in the DMV.

The point is we never really closed down.

Really, but why does everyone say that our problem is we never really locked down like China and Italy did? Which is it?

"everyone" doesn't say this.
