It’s for those who wants liberal arts education AND engineering. You’ll be surprised to learn that many engineering schools emphasize and value liberal arts background.

It is not like you can’t take humanities courses at bigger universities. At Columbia, Engineering students still have to do part of the core curriculum

My kid’s at Columbia SEAS.
MIT was her #1 fall back, and Caltech was #2.

OP, she might also consider mid-size private universities such as U Rochester, Villanova, Santa Clara, Lehigh, Case Western, etc

Not sure why you are attacking 60 year olds. They are most likely to have college age or recently graduated kids so presumably have some up to date information unlike the other people giving random examples

Friend’s son scored a 31 on ACT and scholarship money to Kalamazoo. Majored in CS + Math and now works as a Software Engineer at a mid sized company. My niece majored in CS at DePauw and is a Software Engineer at a Fortune 500 company. They don’t work at FANG, but there’s a wide range of schools that for CS.
