This is such bullshit. Here is what I would do. Hire a nice nanny/Housekeeper and work the shit out of that credit card on a daily basis, clothes, shoes, makeup, facials, hair, massage, mani, pedi, lunches, breakfasts, etc. like it is your job. Get a cabana at a fancy hotel or club and lounge there when you are not shopping, play some tennis, get spa treatments, swimming, sauna, wet sauna, etc. At night, go out for nice dinners, frozen yogurt, movies, visit family and friends for the weekend, plan little vacations with them.
Spend lots of money and let him be the shopping widow. Let that little bitch gets a taste of his own medicine.
When he calls do not answer the phone. Wait for a couple of calls and then have a quick conversation and hang up and say I’m busy gotta go.

Op here. I do plenty of shopping. But it’s an empty existence. I’ve played the “busy” game too. If it’s not genuine it’s not fulfilling.

I wish it was that easy. OP here and I’m back and still alone/lonely. Sometimes I get optimistic and plan things but he’s generally tired on the Saturdays he’s home because he’s been golfing and drinking and working long hours. I’m trying to resign myself to this, but it’s heartbreaking. It’s one of those things like sure I could try and join him, and dress hot, or be “cool” about it. But what does he actually want?? A lazy Saturday at the house with takeout. And to let loose with his buddies every other chance he gets.

I LOVE that my DH heads out to play golf early in the mornings- the kids and I sleep in, leisurely have my coffee and putz around. He has played since we started dating 20 years ago. I love the guy but I especially like that he plays during the CV as we are together working out of the house all day long....

Another golf "widow" here. COVID has made things worse because now, instead of playing 2x a week, he is playing 4-5x a week!
And it's not just the time spent on the golf course. It's also the 1 hour each way to get to the golf course and the drinks and dinner afterwards. I never know what time to have dinner ready because he comes home at a different time depending on when he finishes his game.
When my DC was young, I used to resent the constant absence on weekends. Now, I don't care if he's gone because I no longer have a lot of interest in spending time with him ,but I think he may come to regret it because DC is off to college soon. And DH will never get that lost time back.
