Wow. I’m also a former teacher and I think it’s a ridiculous to name your child something that appeases future teachers.

I like both names. Theodosia does make me think of Hamilton, since that was the name of Burr's daughter. I actually considered Theodora when my kid was born.

Or you can come at it from a different angle and give her a name that means or alludes to "bear" and still use Teddy as a nickname. Options: Bernadine/Bernadette, Artis, Ursula, Winnie?




This is a good idea! There are so many great T names:

Teresa
Tatiana
Thea
Tabitha

Bear is more of a stretch, but there are other names that are conducive to the the Teddy sound. (Though, I like the T names better)

Dorothy
Athena
Bernadette





Love Tabitha

Also Dorothy, nn Dot

We know a Theia who is super adorable and I think it's a great name.

Theodosia reminds me of Aaron Burr, so I would probably go with Theodora
