I think every family's situation and risk tolerance is different. My spouse is back at work full time and has limited flexibility in terms of hours. I can telework, but not while caring for a 1yo and 3yo. I'm still relatively new and part-time isn't an option. None of us have conditions that make us higher risk for covid, and the last few months have been very challenging. Daycare is taking a lot of precautions and the group sizes are small. So it was kind of an easy decision for us to send our kids back. But I know of other families with slightly older kids, more job flexibility, and a lower risk tolerance, who have elected not to return. Some are continuing to pay to hold their spot in hopes of returning in a few months, but I'm not sure what would need to change by then in order to feel comfortable doing so.

My daycare is in a federal building which hasn't allowed it to reopen yet.

Based on the additional information, I am not sending him back ye. There have been stories about daycares taking serious precautions and still having outbreaks. My father in law caught it probably just from going to Home Depot and he's still in iffy condition (they live in another state). That and cases are going in the wrong direction and we're still in summer.

Right now we're just alternating and working nights and weekends as we can. I realize that's an unusual situation.

DH wants to send DD to preschool b/c with DL and is both working we will be at breaking point.

If they don’t have any cases thru Aug, how risky is it likely ? Teachers wear mask but kids don’t they stay as pods so just 9 kids and 2 adults. Seems like this is 44 people interaction (including each participants family, assuming 4) — in NOVA how many cases per unit population do we have
