The other family that volunteers is a single mom w/4girls who all wear fancy sneakers and manicures and have boyfriends who drive fancy cars

Many of the people who come through the line to get food are driving very fancy cars

We are not poor And we have no bills but we live On a single income and we are careful with our spending.

I will try a documentary-

This does not seem believable.

Op here- you all have been very helpful and I appreciate all the input. I think I have decided to let him buy the AirPods with his own money drawn from the account where we keep his allowance.

We will also pick a book about personal finance like this one - (it looks pretty good) https://www.amazon.com/Want-More-Pizza-Skills-College/dp/0996519408/ref=pd_sbs_14_5/132-9974927-3130018?_encoding=UTF8&pd_rd_i=0996519408&pd_rd_r=41c59729-0d79-4fc8-8a61-cb91d8924fc6&pd_rd_w=uz1lA&pd_rd_wg=CsvHH&pf_rd_p=d28ef93e-22cf-4527-b60a-90c984b5663d&pf_rd_r=7PXPEM0TVY6MVFZCQMYC&psc=1&refRID=7PXPEM0TVY6MVFZCQMYC

And I will consider increasing the allowance as well as his financial responsibilities!

+1. This type of thing is why nobody knows what to buy for your teens for Christmas. If they get everything they want all year long, there's nothing left to give them.
