That was worse than birthing two kids and a kidney stone.
I kind of want to hear this story, but also want to sleep without nightmares. Yikes!
You don’t want the story. The reduction didn’t work and I still had to have reconstructive surgery on it with titanium plates and 20 screws. I don’t know why they did the reduction, under zero sedative. If any person is every faced with this decision, insist on being knocked out beforehand. This procedure have me huge PTSD and anxiety for years. And I’m not a sensitive person or have a low threshold for pain. This was at INOVA Fairfax, which is a very good hospital.
I’ve had a kidney stone, and I’ve had two kids. The reduction was blinding, involuntary scream at the top of your lungs, natural instinct/reflex is to fight so there are 4 people holding you down and one doing the reduction, I kept passing out (and this was how I leaned there are smelling salts taped to the back of ER beds) pain. Just incredible.
