They did things for half of the country's population. Never omit that. Do you actually dare say, Land of the brave and the free when many were not free? Do you claim to have democracy, when it means for a select few? We are not talking about ancient Greece here, but you might as well be. How is it that what was acceptable in 500BC was still acceptable in the 18th century? Stop acting like this is some long forgotten and so different time. We know that Black people in the U.S. are killed on weekly basis by the police that is practically untouchable. You claim democracy but live in a police, racist country. You don't get to say enough is enough already. You never had enough of anything to be able to claim that right. When a black man walks away with a "Have a nice day, sir," after being pulled over, he can tell us if things are fine in this country. When a black man calls the police as he is being beaten by white mob, and he ends up arrested, there will not be any enough is enough. You clearly don't care and that is the problem. You are a hideous person inside and out. So,quite frankly, my dear, until you and the likes of you exist, there is no enough here.
Actually there is police brutality for all races but no one wants to look at that. And, talking about what happened 200-400 years ago is not relevant at this point. Focus on the present. Do you read the news about what is happening in other countries? Clearly not.

Did you know the Native American tribes warred with each other and took the losers as slaves?
Let me explain something to you. You are too ignorant to know that, yes they warred, but they never committed genocide, they warred with honor. Their slaves became part of their tribes. You are probably the person that said Native Americans "stole" American from those here before them. Do you know that they were also made slaves by the white people? Here is the truth, you are too stupid, too uneducated and you should learn to keep your mouth shut since you are only embarrassing yourself and your loved ones when you open it.
Warred with honor?
Didn’t know it was honorable to massacre entire families and take the women as sex slaves.
And I love how you justify slavery as long as it was by Native Americans.

This. There are plenty valiant and courageous men and women in the military past and present. We shouldn't name things after generals that we're racists and lost a war. Seriously. .
If a person is chosen, they better run a background check first. Otherwise we'll be right back here in a year.
I'd rather not have any forts or bases named after a real person. People are flawed, that's a fact. We might find something unacceptable about the person in the future.
I heard the crickets when it was revealed Martin Luther King Jr. watched and laughed as one of his friends raped a woman.

But yes, remove the names of Confederate generals from US federal bases. Whatever perceived benefit there was at the time (eg, restoring national unity after the Civil War) has long since passed.
I like the idea of naming them after a diverse selection of well-chosen Medal of Honor winners, but realize that our great-grandchildren will eventually find offense with something about each person and rename them again[i][u].
