Locally, Arlington cases are starting to rise again:

Did you read the article or just the headline. Cases are up because testing has significantly increased. The positivity rate is still below 10%. The fact that people can’t understand the nuance of this situation is why we are having so many problems.
Yes, cases will go up when you open up. That’s not a surprise or argument to stay locked in. Locking in early slowed the cases to avoid overwhelming the health system. It wasn’t going to kill the disease. We are likely going to lose many more thousand of people not matter the option you choose unless you lock down until there is a wide-distributed vaccine. Protect yourself and others when you go outside. Elderly should avoid contact. And we will do the best we can. But most people can’t just stop the world and shut down.

I really don't understand how/why people can't comprehend this. It's mind boggling.

On the other hand, Arizona opened up too but their COVID-19 numbers went up.
Hence, I hope the DMV is analyzing what GA does so we can open up safely. Maybe is the combination of proper social distancing and humidity/heat. Arizona is dry heat. But I don’t know.

Even California is easing restrictions and that state's leadership has its head further up its behind than folks in the DMV. Many states are already back on the field. The Big East announced its soccer plans for the Fall. JefCup is in August as is SD Surf Cup.
Harvard is going online this fall semester. I suspect they have better medical expertize than the organizers of Jeff Cup or Surf Cup. And Jeff Cup was just moved from June to August so scheduling a tournament to a particular date does not mean that the tournament will actually take place.

No hard feelings but this isn't just about soccer. The country felt enough effect from the this shutdown and won't let get back to that point again.
There is a difference between reopening the country so that people can provide for thier families and engaging in non-essential activities such as youth sports that involve physical contact. I am not against youth sports, but they are no the priority.
That is correct. Youth sports are not a priority. And, if you are one of the distressed parents who want schools open at all costs so that your future star can play... then screw you.
You are probably the type of moron who would still want everything open even if your mother caught Crownvirus.
off with your head I would say!
