For better or worse, we are entering phase 1, 3 days after the rest of the state enters phase 2. If you disagree, then stay in your home. I don't want the 'Rona any more than you do, but I'm not going to hide in my home for years waiting for a treatment or vaccine which may never come. Don't worry, I'm not going to go buck wild Ozark style. I'm going to get my hair styled at a salon which will be following safety guidelines, as will I.
Have you been hiding in your home? Plenty of people in the county have been out all along, and I'm not talking about essential workers. Meanwhile my octogenarian parents really will be stuck in their home for years. On the other hand, at least they're alive, unlike 531 county residents so far. But hey, we gotta move on!
My parents are also stuck at home, and my mom is particularly high risk thanks to the form of blood cancer she has. It's awful.
*and at the same time* we're not sacrificing our children's mental health by keeping them inside and away from every other human being anymore. This level of stress isn't great for their short-term and possibly long-term health. Moreover, there are many, many children in real danger due to the severity of the restrictions we've been under.
So, no, the pandemic isn't over. It won't be for a very long time. It's horrible in many ways for many people, but "stay at home" literally cannot continue indefinitely for myriad reasons.

Is there video? I am listening to the County employee update and they said they were really saddened by how the crowd acted....
Enjoy the crazies!

I have never gotten a pedicure in my life and think they are super gross, but I have a lot of elderly relatives that get them because they are not limber enough to cut their own toe nails any more, and long nail pose certain health risks if your circulation is bad. That seems more essential than my covering my nasty roots.
I do wonder if hair salons are going to do "no blow dry". I'd be much more likely to go in if they aren't going to be blowing other people's air into my face with the blowdryers going.
I guess libraries are not included in Phase 1?

Anyone know what this means? Can you get your hair colored/highlighted?
I don't think so. They don't want people lingering in salons. Get your cut and move on.

Good! Children are on top of each other there and you can't have them wear masks. If anything, playgrounds should remain closed as long as possible.
