We had several a cappella groups at my college in the 90s. At least one of those had been around since the 1940s.

Very common at top schools in the Northeast.

I agree I liked their stuff at first but now I find it trying to hard. They are probably trying to make money from their videos so there’s probably pressure.

I don’t like how they use their kids in their videos. Just by having them in them for such broad public consumption, it just seems exploitative and wrong.

Also, their house is typical Raleigh/Durham Style Love it or List it House porn for us DC area folks who are living in 1/2 the size house for twice the price.

Haha. They absolutely were. I’m in my 40’s and was in a group and they definitely were a thing. There were college competitions and everything. Just bc you didn’t hear of them until Pitch Perfect doesn’t mean they didn’t exist before the movie!

Maybe i'm a sucker, but I don't mind the Holdernesses. I have an acquaintance who also does viral parenting videos and hers are WAY cringe-ier and less funny, so I guess my bar is pretty low.
