Lol. I actually look really good on Zoom. Better than in real life. People always compliment me on Zoom "oh, wow, you look great!". "you're looking amazing". This is people I've seen recently and ones I haven't seen in years.
I think it's because I have high cheekbones and sharp features. Somehow they look great on camera.
It's nice but I'd rather look better in real life.

Haha I have a longer face and pronounced cheekbones/jawline and people who have seen me on Zoom that finally meet me in real life always assume I am like 5'10" tall (in real life I'm about 7 inches shorter than that!).

My sharp, thin face also looks terrible on Zoom! I think that most people look pretty bad on video calls because of no makeup / poor lighting. There is a reason entertainers have glam squads.

I'm the OP of the "omg I love juvederm" post. My place finally started doing fillers again (they stopped doing fillers around or on the mouth bc covid) so I went in a couple days ago for it. And suddenly I look much better on camera! Cameras emphasize lines because they provide a one dimensional image of your face.

Prior to being able to get juvederm, I tried to add depth and dimension to my face by contouring. It helps, every little bit helps on camera.

It's your lighting. Google how to do flattering lighting for photos. If it doesn't help, dim the lights and put cheese cloth over the camera to 'soften' your ugliness.
