Much of what parents pay for is salaries for directors and coaches. Roughly 65-75% is going to salaries at most clubs. Teams are paying $1K-$2K per season for most leagues, which is a small percentage of the $30K~ that is getting collected per team.

it is not a refund but a credit. we are switching teams so it $0 for us.

What if kids were graduating?

I understand that there is a different cost for girls v. boys, which could explain a bit, but the rest I don't get.

Not all age groups nor team levels (red, white etc) have the same amount of weekly practices, tournaments and so on. As such, the cost to deliver services to an older Red team that is practicing more often and attending more tournaments is higher than a team slated to practice twice weekly and do one local tournament. The fee for that team is less and therefore the credit/refund is less. Thats how I understand it

I sort of see that. As far as I know, all age groups and teams practice three times a week (except maybe the very youngest kids). But I do know that red has more tournaments than any other team and they are farther away.

Where does the honest aspect play into this equation. Those that provided no refunds seem to fall in that category based on what you suggest as I dont see any club providing a refund of any sort with an accounting of how they got there. Therefore no one is honest and you should not choose any club and just go away or choose the club that was honest and took all your money

NP. My child plays for a different club that gave a similar refund. I'm actually not that caught up in the amount of the refund. But, I don't want to put it towards next year, have there be no fall season, and then lose more money. I don't know any way to avoid this though.

I would take the refund and not sign up.

I see that POV. My concern is that my son is on a mid-level team and properly placed there. He's good, but not a superstar. So if we don't take the spot and there IS a fall season, he's replaceable.

BRYC only offered a $230 credit. Also, we paid tournament fees separately and have gotten no indication when we will get that back since all tournaments were canceled.
