Don’t most kids enjoy playing in water?

Because their hair is so thick that it turns bathing into a huge chore for me. Getting all the shampoo in and out and then drying it takes 20 min per kid at least. And I can’t let it air dry, it would still be wet 24 hrs later. Their hair is barely even shoulder length, there is just SO MUCH of it.

I have a 6, 4, and 1, and yes everyone is bathed at night before bed, even when they don’t go out. I put lotion on the kid with eczema after bathing.

No. Both need their butts washed every day. The two-year doesn’t need its hair washed as frequently, but yes both should be bathing daily.

Me too.

People with dry skin cannot bathe daily.

Sure they can. You put lotion on getting out of the tub.

OR don’t bathe so frequently and you don’t need nearly so much lotion. It’s much simpler. I’m much more concerned about the PP who says her 7 yo has smelly armpits! That is not normal and I would see a doctor for that.

I’m the poster with 4yo twins. We wash hair and scrub with soap twice a week. The other nights we just do a little squirt of castile soap and we rinse hair but don’t put any soapnin especially. We do lotion a few times a week. My boys both have very dry, sensitive skin.

I don’t see the point of bathing without soap.

Every night. She enjoys bathtime and has her colored bath bombs for kids that makes it a 30 min activity.

People with dry skin can and should bathe daily with cooler water and apply barrier lotion. I know. This was what a top dermatologist finally told us and it cured mine and my kids dry skin for good
.

This is really good advice. My LO has excema and a few other skin issues and is not potty trained. We bathe her at least twice daily between the shower or bathtub. The game changer has been that LO bathes with clothing on (100% cotton jammies) at bath or shower time.

At bath time, we add three cups of organic apple cider vinegar added to the water and never use bubble bath; we use very very little soap. We also rinse the soap off quickly at the end and only use soap for every other bathing. No towel for drying, we put her light layer lotion on and then dry 100% cotton clothes directly on afterward.

I second anyone that uses water time for a break, or calming. My olders take showers after going outside, as do I. We also have inside/outside clothing.

Regular bathing also helps to keep your house clean, surprisingly.

+1 And it’s not like we’re talking about 30 min hot showers. But a 5 min shower daily cleaning all the bits is necessary.

This. But this board is normally disgusting about bathing habits. What’s being posted here is no different then the million other threads that have been posted over the years. Not to mention the adults here love to brag about how long they go between washing their hair. It’s disgusting.

The kids get a bath every night before bed.

I can’t imagine not bathing them. One is still in diapers and the four-year-old runs around and gets sweaty and dirty outside.
