This is very true and makes me want to build a simple “DCUM Tacky Decider” website where the answer to every “is it tacky” question is “yes”

Sibs at bday parties- yes
Sprinkle for 2nd baby- yes
Throwing own baby shower - yes
Regifting - yes
Etc etc

(Not saying these are my beliefs, but these are the things DCUM has called tacky)

Thank god the Mom cares more about providing joy to her kid than the judgment of those who are supposed to be friends.

You know what being 'friends 'means? Why are all even connected on FB if just asking for a card for a kid bothers you so much ?!! These are weird and difficult times for everyone, keep the judgment aside OP. She isn't asking for money or gifts.

The fact that multiple kids are also upset does not make this particular kid any less upset. Send a card or don't, but your line of thinking is way off and makes you sound like an idiot.

We were scheduled for a big end of March bday party and had to cancel because of social distancing. Kid was happy they ended up getting one card from a friend (a quick homemade on notebook paper sketch) and taped it to their wall. I know everyone was too busy dealing with stocking up and the unknown to think of sending a card but we really appreciate the one who did.

It's not tacky. We did this for my 19 year old nephew. He had no idea, my SIL planned the whole thing, it was amazing and he was really surprised and happy. Roughly 55 family and friends sent in pictures of poster board greetings, or video shoutouts. It was awesome! They turned it ino a montage to show him on his birthday.

Maybe her language was overwrought, but it's a nice idea and not a big ask. My kid just made a card and sent it for her friend's little brother's birthday.

Get a life. Send a card or don’t. Move along.

I've disagreed or rolled my eyes at a lot of things on this site, but this is one of the few posts I've seen that made me think there was something genuinely and deeply wrong with OP.

I think it's a sweet idea, and you're a B.

For real OP she’s not asking for money!
