I will say that it sounds like different clubs (between ASA, FCV and MU) are interpreting the HS play thing a bit differently. We have a DD at one club and friends with players at the other two. At MU the message was "if you really want to play HS, we will consider letting you on a case by case basis" but it sounded like, as with ECNL in the past pre-DA, it really won't go well for players who want to do HS. That's okay -- it's a choice people have to make -- but be sure you are asking the right questions of your club and going in with your eyes open, not just assuming because it is permitted that it is encouraged.

That has been our experience with several clubs. Some are "ok" with playing HS, but others are not as supportive. Based on what we have seen/heard if you are a superstar on the team they let you do what you want because they don't want to lose the player. If you are a back of the pack player it's ok to play (because we told the star of the team it's ok), but you may be at risk of losing your spot if on the top team. The other issue we experienced was the ability of the high school team. If they are a great team with a great coach the club coaches are more open because they are getting good training. If the teams sucks then the club becomes more hesitant. Kind of a "you want to go play on that crap team instead of training/playing with us"?. Then you are at risk of losing a spot again.

Have they had any luck attracting at age players for the younger team (06 esp)?
