The great thing about EDP is that a really good team from an otherwise OK club can be in a top division. None of this nonsense where teams are in top divisions merely because they belong to a strong club and good teams excluded merely because other club teams are viewed as weaker.
Every Club, event the big ones have weaker age groups. It should not be based on the "Club". It should be the 'team' and pro/rel helps with this.

Higher divisions could cover as large a geographic area as necessary to esnure sufficient competition and lower divsions would be more geographically limited. Plus the MLS clubs would get the benefit of a much wider funnel of players bubbling up to them instead of the current situation where you have kids inside DA who have a chance to bubble up, and kids outside DA who never get a look in despite plenty of them being as good as many of the DA players.
Wake up guys, you're in the U.S., the country where even professional leagues do not face relegation and mismanagement is inconsequential, if not bragged about.
We already have this in EDP and NCSL. The question is why other area clubs won’t do it across all age groups. It cannot always be about the convenience for coaches and clubs in having match days. Seems like clubs may want to rethink those priorities as they face less demand for services and higher expectations from families who will continue to play when things open back up.

I never said this was what [BI]would[/BI] happen. I just said it was what [BI]should[/BI] happen. I know it won't actually happen.

Yeah you'd think so. But DCU largely have their heads up their asses too. Right now they don't even send scouts to watch teams that play next door to them - what on earth makes you think they are capable of forward thinking plans like this?

Think most likely outcome here on the East coast will be that most of the ex DA clubs (minus VDA and Richmond obviously) form a new league with the MLS clubs. But I'm not on the inside so I don't know anything for sure.

MLS clubs apparently adrift too. Their plan for MLS only league appears to have fallen apart (silly idea in the first place if you ask me). Right now DCU don't even know what age groups they will have or even if they will have any youth teams at all. I'm hearing they may cut back to just U15 and U17, and they will likely not be making it free as they had planned.

SYC is going to CCL.
As of now, and Arlington and Alexandria (and others) are already in CCL. The question is whether something else might happen in light of all else.
