People are trashing some fairly fun places. Vegas, LA, Disney. Come on, you can have a great time there if you have money to spend. Wayyyy better than any city or small town in most of Europe. I've been basically bored to tears traveling and living in Europe.

You see 2-3 eastern european castles and you've seen them all. Tons of poverty, sketchy gypsies and countryside folks, tourist traps left and right. Food is merely decent. Alcoholics everywhere. I'm talking Romania, Czech Republic, Slovakia, Hungary (at least some spicy food in Hungary I guess).

The germanic countries are the most plain vanilla, boring places ever. Terrible food in Germany and Austria. People are so stiff everywhere. Not much interesting architecture thanks to getting bombed all to hell. Wow, Vienna has an opera house. Ok, never seen one of those before. Berlin at least is a somewhat "happening" city but probably the only one. Skiing in the alps is fun but you can ski in the US too.

London felt like America but with worse store and restaurant hours and an indian food restaurant on every corner. Wow a big clock tower. Amazing. The small towns throughout ENgland are snooze fests."Bed and Breakfast #253, coming up!"

Stockholm was almost as boring as a German city except they have that cool waterside amusement park. Some decent restaurants. But come on, Abba museum? Old town (brownish buildings with no personality).

Outside of smoking weed, Amsterdam and the surrounding areas are a letdown. Wow, you can bike! If I wanted to bike I'd do it at home.

Belgium I guess at east has liege waffles, strong beer, and jenever. Some nice architecture.

I'll give Paris and Rome a thumbs up because the food and things to see are quite good. I did legitimately enjoy these cities.

The greek islands are so-so. Tons of tourist traps but at least the weather and scenery is nice. The sea is waaayyyyyy too cold, though. Give me Hawaii or Puerto Rico any day over any European beach destination!

If someone gave me the option between Disney, Vegas, or Europe (Italy and France excluded), Europe would be my third choice.

Outer Banks - too red-necky and food wasn't good. Even the more expensive rental houses weren't that nice.

I honestly can’t think of a particular place. I don’t like super touristy areas like Times Square but that’s not actually overhyped. And I wasn’t wowed by Seattle but nobody promised me a wow-worth experience. But mostly I have found that things live up to my expectations. Maybe I am just easily interested in stuff. Or my expectations are low.

And I didn't have a miserable time or anything, I was on holiday and it was fun and relaxing. I was all over the country, not just one part. It just ranked so low compared to a lot of other places in Asia. Bali is full of tourists who are either bad stereotypes of tourists to poorer but beautiful countries to party like Russian EDM-loving 20 year old d-bags OR tourists who think they are an "authentic traveller" and so much above and different than other (white) people visiting because #namaste, and the like. LOL. If you are into the surfing culture/ scene it can be pretty awesome.

Scenery is beautiful but not really unique to many other islands and areas of SE Asia.

As overly touristed as I found Bali, I really liked it. I just expected the beaches to be a bit nicer for swimming and lounging (great surfing though). On the other hand, I found Koh Samui to be trashy, boring and overpriced.

LA isn't my speed, at all. I really liked San Diego so I felt like I would love LA since I love huge cities, but it was very different IMO, even though both So Cal. I can dig it for a week but I don't want to move there for sure. Can't put my finger on it exactly.

Funny, we thought "Ok this is going to be tourist crap" but I love taking boats, so we did the VIP wine tasting experience on the boat. It started to rain and we were the only ones who had an enclosed space to go to which was nice, compared to the back of the boat. But we were on with a loud, crazy hen party from UK. You would think it would be a nightmare but it was one of the funniest things I'd experienced in a long time.

Maine. Although I haven’t made it to Acadia. It’s such a strange place. I’ve been twice. Once for work To Augusta and another time for a wedding in one of the coasts beach towns and didn’t like it at all.
