We went to a Virginia state park two weekends ago and the parking lot was unusually busy for the early morning. We went out on a trail we knew wasn't popular (too long for newbies) and when we came back, the parking lot was packed and people were not keeping their distance.
If you're a hiker, you'll want to take this time off. You don't want to be out there.

Blame republicans trump and hogan. They shut the whole friggin country down. Democrats were trying to keep businesses open so people could stay employed, but republicans have never cared about working people. They shut the whole country down and killed the economy.

A better question is are you allowed to or should you drive a distance for a hike. My guess is probably not a good idea. On one hand, if you live in downtown Bethesda and everybody and their kids are on the Capital Crescent, it might seem wise to drive to another trail. However, if you're making regular trips up I-270 to hike trails every other day, the social distancing advantage you get by hiking in less populated areas will be negated by the needs to go to gas stations or any car issues.
This isn't supposed to last all summer. Save the adventure hikes for July and August. Get good walks in around your neighborhoods. If your favorite bike trails are crowded, try going at dawn or sunset. It's not the end of the world.

It DOES NOT mean “act like every day is a weekend”, where you get to go do fun stuff that you don’t normally do.
IT MEANS STAY IN YOUR F’ING HOUSE!!!
If I were in charge of the police, I would issue standing orders to give people like you beat downs with sticks and rubber hoses the first time you were caught outside your house. The second time, they’d just shoot yiu in the head right there on the street.
People like OP are the whole freakin reason we’re in a pandemic right now.
STAY HOME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
We are not under a shelter in place order, at least in Virginia. Going to the parks to exercise, with family members, or even with others if you are social distancing, is expressly permitted.
Actually, he said it is ok to drive to exercise, and to a park, but preferably the shorter the better. So, no.

Busybodies continue to be a worse disease than coronavirus.
Stop telling others what to do. So annoying.
NP here, this is exactly what the Governor did say at Monday's press conference.
Not true. You can go outside.
He said if you can walk or bike to the park to go hiking that’s fine. What part of reading comprehension is difficult for you? I watched the press conference and he did indeed say this. He specifically said he didn’t want people driving to get to a park to hike far from their house. Them the breaks.
