Hang in there, OP. My laundry is piling up, finally washed my hair today after 2 weeks, but who cares. We are healthy, I have a job I can do from home with steady income, and I do my best. I advertised on neighbor list serves and they are young people who are able to offer their help with tutoring/ babysitting if you have some $$$$ to spare.

My brother is a widower with three pre-teens and his life has to be a complete sh— show given he is teleworking and he has a pretty big job. I spoke with him yesterday and he was scarily calm. He said he’s been through worse and he has. Perspective helps. He spends a lot of time on conference calls and he joked that when the kids make noise he just says he’s got two meetings going.

I’m a single mom and like others have said it’s exhausting teleworking and mom-ing at the same time. But I’ve been stunned by how my ex has stepped up and despite an acrimonious relationship he has been a huge help. He really wants what is best for our daughter and my sanity is part of it.

I’m a single mom. Honestly being quarantined is way easier than my day to day without it.

Please, please reach out to your neighbors, friends , family. Tell them your situation. Many, many people WANT to help. Especially if you feel your child can end up in dangerous situations.

I have only asked for help one time in my life after becoming a single mom. I am very independent and would normally never ask for help. But I needed it, and I got so many offers. People understand we all need help, sometimes.
