He was a child who was repeatedly raped by his co-conspirator Malvo. He was a child-abuse victim of rape over and over again by a much older man (Malvo) and was under the complete control of Malvo--his sense of right and wrong had been destroyed. The heinousness of his crime obscured his victimhood there.
He inflicted an unimaginable amount of pain on innocent people. But I still think of him from time to and wish him peace.

+1 I suggest listening to the Monster: DC Sniper podcast. It was an awful time.
Other than 9/11, it was the most memorable, traumatic local event in my time here (since 1994).
