45 people were just diagnosed on a Nile cruise ship - the same one the Maryland cases came form. It's in the 90s in Luxor, Egypt. The virus does just fine in hot weather.

Most tours to Egypt have a land and cruise aspect. You stay with the same group for the entire tour, which usually includes Cairo, Giza etc. you stay in the same hotel, share group meals, and ride on same tour bus. When you tour Luxor to Aswan it is by river cruise. These are small boats. The potential to pick this up in such a case isn’t limited to the cruise ship. Any group tour involves the risk of contagion.

Not the PP. Simple science. Flu season dies down as weather heats up. Mid March usually begins to abate
This isn’t the flu.
Some experts think it will slow down. Other say they don’t know how it will behave. It is a NOVEL virus after all.
So it’s not simple science. And it’s not a done deal.

The climate issue relates more to humidity and air density as a transmission factor than temperature. Saying “it’s hot in XYZ” doesn’t mean much.

My boss is self-quarantining. Her dh came back from Japan last week, and has been asked to quarantine himself for two-weeks. She decided to follow suit. So far, both are fine - one more week to go. On the plus side, she’s learning a lot about what it’s like for the remote employees on her team

I would call my boss, them them i was in contact with a known case, and ask for guidance. If I could telecommute, I would and quarantine myself.

Without a doubt. Had I gone to CPAC, I would have already started. I also did not go to the DC Big Flea today and won't tomorrow - too many people.
