Princeton doesn't seem to be telling students to move out. Just if you leave don't come back. Why would a kid leave if they know they can't return? Harvard is a hard stop on being in dorm by this Sunday. only exceptions are if from a Level 3 country or one that has closed borders. Seems really extreme. MIT doing online classes but students can remain on campus.

Princeton is also going to online only classes, asks for everyone to stay at least 6 feet apart from one another, and that students who leave for spring break not come back.

I mean it is so much stuff with the bedding and the microwave and everything. Usually there's organized summer storage that the students all get together and do at the end of the year.
Child just can't pack it all up today and take it on the plane, or even store it somewhere with no car to haul anything and only a short time to pack.
Better clean out that mini fridge if they won't be coming back for who knows how long.
It's just a guess! Who knows what they will actually do.
I also think it depends on whether your student's college has extensive summer programs happening, such as camps for younger kids or summer classes and they need the dorms for housing.
