It doesn't sound as though estate planning was really a top priority for Ric. He mainly wanted his will to reflect who wasn't getting anything in the event of his untimely death. He wasn't expecting to die.

She seems like a nice lady but I fail to see why she expected any money if she was separated and was dating another man.
Also, if she and the other disinherited children all filed with lawyers the reality is that there won't end up being much for anyone. Usually the lawyers win in these cases.

The market for that is pretty small and I'm betting the pay wouldn't touch 10% of what she was making in the 80s.

Financial security seem to be a worry for her, so I would imagine that the financial aspects of their divorce were very much being hammered out. They were in the process of dissolving their marriage and they had been legally separated for quite awhile. She had to have been living off of something.

I thought they were separated, not yet divorced
