You don’t not need to be associated with any club or league to get an NTC invite. It is the wide thrown by US Soccer. If your player is good enough and advances past the NTC, of which 1 percent do, US will encourage you to join a DA club if you’re not already at one.

US soccer wants the best kids in the nation. Not the best kids in the DA. The NTCs are over at U15. Stupid really.

Yes, the ECNL holds their own event for ECNL players to be scouted. So ECNL players have 2 avenues. NTC and ECNL event.

Again, there is a one percent chance of advancing past the wide net.

You will know if your kid is an exceptional talent. I’m talking top 30 players in the US. I’m talking full rides to top 5 university.

If this isn’t your kid, forget it and let it go.

I don't think it's an accident they call it that or that it's creating confusion. And it definitely started post-DA start.

it's not confusing if they read the information provided. The ECNL National Training Camp is the marketing solution provided by ECNL. The US Soccer will not call up ECNL players. IF they were good enough for the National Team, they would be playing DA.

And yet, I've met several parents who say their kid's are going to a national training camp. Not ECNL, just national training camp. And other people think those kids are going. And they don't realize the difference. Until later someone else asks about date and place and then those people realize. People still think ECNL is the pathway. It's not. That doesn't preclude a player from YNT, but whatever the ECNL is doing is on its own. DA is the pathway.

So why call ecnl players into the training centers?

They tell them this time is free. If you want to come next time better be on a DA club.
