Anonymous wrote:Actually you are mostly right, but being invited to NTCs is a good resume builder for colleges. That's the only reason most of us *should* show any interest in participating. Yep, my kid is not YNT bound. But having gone many times over the years looks good as an "achievement" , the way being on ODP used to in the past.

What weighs more the NTC invitation or the kid’s GPA?

There are no ecnl ntc’s.
The scout for the area has a conflict of interest? Get in her carpool.
Richmond 05 had a player at ynt camp. Richmond 04 had 2. FCV 04 had 1 but she is 05. It’s politics. Get used to it.
ECNL calls them National Training Camp, and believe it or not, I've run into several parents and players (ECNL) who think they are being called up by US Soccer and don't realize what they are actually being invited to. I don't think it's an accident they call it that or that it's creating confusion. And it definitely started post-DA start.
It’s an ecnl camp. Clearly stated in the package and emails that comes to the players. Take your nonsense elsewhere.
It can be very confusing to parents and players who don't realize that the National Training Camp is not being run by US Soccer. That's not nonsense. That's based on facts on the ground. Take your snarky dismissals somewhere else.
it's not confusing if they read the information provided. The ECNL National Training Camp is the marketing solution provided by ECNL. The US Soccer will not call up ECNL players. IF they were good enough for the National Team, they would be playing DA.
And yet, I've met several parents who say their kid's are going to a national training camp. Not ECNL, just national training camp. And other people think those kids are going. And they don't realize the difference. Until later someone else asks about date and place and then those people realize. People still think ECNL is the pathway. It's not. That doesn't preclude a player from YNT, but whatever the ECNL is doing is on its own. DA is the pathway.
So why call ecnl players into the training centers?
