I have been to the Petworth restaurant Pom Pom (formerly known as Himitsu) a few times the last few months and they have this Peruvian version of Tahdig and it is really ridiculously delicious. I have no idea how to replicate at home but it’s so good.

I copied and pasted from the menu here:

TAHDIG BUT PERUVIAN
Peruvian green rice, cilantro, parsley, pickled Peruvian peppers, pom pom sauce
$16

Thanks for this PP, looks awesome! How do you do the onions in a microwave? Cook them with some water, but don't caramelize?

I’m the PP, and I swear by Alton Brown’s technique. You don’t have to use the brown sugar to get it to work but he’s right, it makes them taste better. https://altonbrown.com/how-to-make-caramelized-onions-in-the-microwave/

Sounds yummy.

I still remember a blue cornbread ice cream from the southwest.

Escargot cooked in a red wine sauce. Have had escargot many many times but always in the traditional way. It was pretty good!

We did the tasting menu at Diverxo in Madrid last week. Some yummy bites including some sort of raw salmon with a cheese and I don't know what else, that was so freaking good I told my husband I needed a cigarette after it and my DH said it gave him chills up his spine. There was some sort of soup in a croquette or something that exploded in your mouth. There was a frogs leg version of butter chicken (second time having frogs legs and second time thinking they are really just like chicken). I was NOT a fan of the eel and had to close my eyes to get it down.

Sounds good but it won't be that interesting once you hit grad school.

Haha! Grad school was the 5 for $1 ramen. And I didn’t know about adding egg, etc. This is luxe ramen, baby!

I recently bought a package of regular ramen noodles. I tossed the noodles and sprinkled the seasoning packet on Skinny Pasta Konjac noodles. It was good, very low calorie and satisfied a craving. Maybe next time I'll add in some veggies, egg and tofu.

Broccoli salad, with bacon, cheddar, red onion and a mayo/sour cream/apple vinegar dressing, it was so good.

Also, my daughter is doing keto and told me about keto crack biscuits, I will be making those very soon as they sound awesome!
