NP here who loves rulemaking, and you know as well as I do that it's not for everyone. I find transactional work deathly boring but some people like it. Different strokes.

I am a 15 and my rulemaking job is very stressful, although very interesting. Like any job, it can be as challenging as you are willing to make it.


Ok, perhaps I just misinterpreted “soul-sucking.” Boring is one thing, I would count “soul sucking” as something that is boring AND actively harms society. Rulemaking can be boring and occasionally stressful but on balance you are doing something that has an arguable benefit for society.
