At any rate, the person who took the video, the person who tased, and the person(s) who restrained should all be expelled from FCPS and criminally charged. Bystanders should be assessed on a case by case basis.
There should have been communication from the school to all students and parents the day in happened. I do not trust the school to handle this situation with a focus on protecting the victim.
Event occurred last Thursday. No school Monday and Tuesday. Student reported to school Wednesday. School parents notified Wednesday.
The school notified parents AFTER a news crew showed up on their doorstep.
Exactly. That was stated in the news story on channel 4. The school admins knew and decided to enjoy their 4 day weekend rather than address this issue. Pathetic.

They left it up to the victim to come forward, shame on all the students who saw the video and did nothing. A truly cowardly despicable act, made worse by all the bystanders who did nothing, and the staff who are taking their sweet time to notify and investigate. It’s a new principal but I do not trust this school after what happened to the girl assaulted on the band trip.
When was the band incident? Any details of what happened?

Anonymous wrote:It’s attempted murder. How does one even get a taser?

+1 I so feel for that poor kid. What an awful and traumatic thing to have happen, and to know that people videotaped it and shared it for the amusement of other kids is sickening.

I’m not understanding your post. Do rules allow punishment for attacking another student with a taser? What do you think? And what rehabilitation do you suggest? At the very least, the victim should not have to fear for his safety at the hands of these kids. They should be expelled and sent to another school, or first juvie.
great. they can end up in someone else's school and do the same type of cr*p
Somewhere between expulsion and “let’s talk it out” probably lies the right disciplinary response, at least for first-time offenders.
But it certainly looks like a case of assault on a child who emphatically did not want to be assaulted.

Before noon on Thursday, right?
