I hear you but my both VWs were assembled in Mexico / US and that had no bearing.
You know that many German cars are assembled in US.. BMW, Mercedes..
BMW X models are entirely assembled in SC and they are stellar,
Mercedes assembles their cars in many countries. Mercedes-Benz is still headquartered
in Stuttgart, Germany, where the main production facilities are located.
However, there are numerous plants in approximately 22 countries, including the U.S., Austria, Canada, Brazil and Mexico.
When you are buying a car, you are "marrying a brand"...
so whatever you feel abut the brand, how the cars perform after
you buy, how the service works etc, how they hold resell value,
that is what is also important.
Where they are built is of a little significance because the brands
can not afford a car like Mercedes can not be inferior when built in Mexico
to one in Canada because the brand would suffer.
They have THE same standards, they run their factories in the
same fashion and yhou would never know where you are countr=wise
if you were in one of their factories.
I still put my bed on WV Atlas because it is huge car and best value
for what you are getting, aside form upper luxury tier.
Volkswagen hold really awesome resell value, their service
is great and warranties are good, especially if you wanted
a 2019 Tiguan that had 7 years warranty. If you still can find one.
However Atlas is a beast and it looks monumental.
They have them with captains seats and when you sit in one
you feel like wow..
I almost got one but the only thing with Atlas is that for that
price range no matter which brand, for that size the engine
is not super ultimate powerful so the driving is according.
You would need to move to higher price brackets to
have a car that carries that load and can't feel it.
Again, I would much rather get this instead of Minivan
because it looks cool. It is headturner on the road.
It is massive inside and outside and is loaded with features.
I don't like their seats options though cover wise..
until leather.. their fabric is ugly and their fake leather
smells bad so leather is the only option I would settle for
but that kicks you up to highest trim with lots of cool features
that you might not need but have to pay for.
Do check resell values of any car you are looking for.
Do check all the reviews and problems people have.
I just looked up youtube and they changed something! wow..
looks like they have two different body styles now for 2020..
They upped the warranty to 6 or 7 years on Atlas in 2020 wow..
and this is some changes

Good luck.
