They didn't apply. Jeff Cup is not what it used to be. 07/08 and above are DA and won't attend. The very young teams don't bother with this one anymore.

DD was U11 last year and the club said this tournament was a must. Now at U12 we were told it’s not worth it.
Total bs if you ask me. More to this story than we’re being told.

I don't believe it either. FCVs 07 DA team is going. why not 08 when they went last year? They knew they would get poor placement? Or not accepted?

Not true. Their top 2 age groups are tops in the nation

Top 2 or oldest 2?

Oldest 2. U16 and over are performing well. The teams below that are not.

And that's where the problem may lie. Teams formed pre-DA and post-DA are different.

The problem isn’t the DA. It’s all of the “elite” teams now. There are too many. And BRYC has too many issues to look past to get a big group of talent. They have a single person coaching all 8 of the developmental teams. They have a lunatic coaching 2 of the older ECNL teams.

They will be doing fine, as long as they can hold on the ECNL. at U14, or U15, players will start the concentration, it may not get players from Mclean, VDA, LOUDOUN , but the there are other good local club such as PWSI, CYA, SYC etc players looking for a better league. In the end, those 4 ECNL clubs will balance out with local talents.

you have no idea what your talking about do you (no country for old men voice)

Yep I think a lot of the local teams did not make it. Looking at the rankings as a guide, JC can take better teams from outside our area. Also those team will use the hotel booking racket for all the days.

Jeff Cup never says no, not to those type teams at any rate. No one got refused. But if they did fear low bracket placement, that could make sense. However, if they did well at CASL, then they shouldn't fear low bracket placement.

I do not know. I think clubs get rejected. Look at all the 2nd and 3rd teams in this tournament from outside the DMV. It’s a close(easy drive for 3 games)tournament with good competition for the local clubs. I have seen Loudoun and Arlington’s 2nd team in before. I can not image they did not apply for those teams. Did they get rejected or not apply?

I really have a hard time believing all the other DMV Club’s first teams did not apply to the Jeff Cup. A quick look at the other age groups show very few local clubs. I wonder why that is?

If FC Richmond can get accepted, BRYC can. Every time. That's just one example.

None of Bernie’s BRYC (U9-U12) applied. They are not interested in going.

Are they playing for the Ultimate cup?

That is what they did last year.
