We have 2. Several of our very close friends have 1 by choice. Growing up I knew exactly one family with one kid. Times have changed.
I know plenty of 3-4 kid families. Most people have 2. But 3-4 is happenings. I know one family with 5.

I’m in DC and most of our friends have 1-2 kids. We are considering a third and we would be the only ones in our friend group.

We have 4
My brothers each have 2
--2 boys that are 2 years apart
--twin girls
Dh's siblings have:
--2 boys that are 4 years apart
--1 boy
--1 boy
Friends are way to varied to account for. But we go to a church (Catholic) where many families have 8+ children.

Between 1-3 kids. Most have 2. We have 1 due to fertility issues.

We started early but only have one due to unexplained secondary infertility. We tried for 5 years to have a second and could not.
Most of our friends have 2 or 3, more have 3 than have 2.
Half of our friends are one and done, most not by choice.
Most of my friends had their first at or after 40.

We live in an affluent suburb of NYC.
Around here, the richest families have 4 or 5 kids and tons of help. Wives rarely work.
Rich Catholics and rich Modern Orthodox families in our NY suburb always had 5. Dad worked in Manhattan, usually finance.

SAHM in a wealthy non-DC area. Almost all my friends have 3-4 kids. I have three. Almost no one has 1 or 5+.

We have 1.
Local sister has 2.
Friends have: 1, 2, 2, 2, 2, 2...
We are early-mid 40s, all mid level professionals, northern VA. I can only think of two families in our extended circles with 3 and only one with 4.

Right now five. We're a foster family though so only two are ours for keeps at this point. We're not religious. Most foster families we know that have more than three are religious. Our closest friends have 2, 2 and 3. The age split of our kids makes it such that when we do things with the older kids' friends or with those families (unless at a park or outdoors) we divide and conquer or get a sitter for the littlest ones. If we wait around for another family of 5 that we actually like and enjoy spending time with we'd be waiting forever, I think.
